Toots Music Management has been delighted to bring quality live music events to Ickenham and Ruislip over the past couple of years. We have presented ‘Bank Holiday Supper Club’ at the Winston Churchill Hall, featuring the Andy Mears Big Band and most recently have presented an excellent programme of live music events at the Ickenham Village Hall. Performing Artists and Ensembles have  included – The Blue Note Project led by Nick Mills and featuring Dave O Higgins, Martin Shaw, Jeremy Brown & Matt Home;  Matt Walker, Molly-Marie Walsh & Shane Hampsheir; The Andy Mears Octet; The Karen Sharp Quartet with John Critchinson, Dave Green & Steve Brown; Enrico Tomasso & Roy Williams performing the music of Clark Terry and Bob Brookmeyer; Tina May & Frank Griffith.

Andy Mears Big Band with award winning Flute Trio, Tempest

Andy Mears Big Band Personnel –  Trumpets – Ben Godfrey, Sean Hollis, Paul Jordanous, Robbie Robson. Trombones – Tom Dunnett, Jon Stokes, Lewis Musson, Josh Hayward; Saxes Andy Mears, Richard Shepherd, Olly Weston, Sam Walker, Andy Hooley; Pno –Chris Eldred; Bass- Tom Mark; drums – Dave Tandy.

Featuring many of the UK and Europe’s most sought after jazz and session musicians, this exciting band pays homage to the greats whilst having a distinctive voice of its own. Expect hard swinging tunes from the libraries of Basie, Ellington, Mingus, Buddy Rich and more as well as material by leading UK composers.

It is with much excitement that this afternoon they are joined by Tempest Flute Trio who will perform an especially commissioned work by Callum Au – Temporal Flux, for 3 Flutes and Big Band as well as several other items.

Tempest is an award winning flute trio founded at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Their award successes include winning the Royal Overseas League Chamber Prize Music Competition 2013 and Second Prize in the 14th International Kuhlau Flute Competition 2013. After auditions, they were selected to be artists for the Park Lane Group Concert Series and Manchester Midday Concert Society.
Tempest is performing regularly around the UK and internationally. They performed as featured artists in the National Flute Association Annual Convention in Las Vegas, the British Flute Society Convention in Manchester, the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and have toured Switzerland where they opened the Lucerne Chamber Music Series.

Matt Walker 1

 The Andy Mears Octet with vocalist, Matt Walker, trumpet star, Enrico Tomasso & Syd Lawrence Tenor Saxophonist, Mike Hope. 

A very special tribute will be made this evening to Frank Sinatra, who would have been 100 years old today! Matt Walker will celebrate the 20th Century icon’s contribution to popular music with classics from the Great American Songbook that have become synonymous with him.
